Text Box: God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble...................this is from the book of James. The other day I was talking with someone about this subject and they were sharing with me that on occasion, at their job, they get an opportunity to apply grace to specific situations. They were saying they believed that applying Godly principles was the reason why their area was experiencing growth and bringing in new business. Giving glory to God is a huge part of real success. Having too much pride in ones-self brings us into conflict with our God. He is the One who owns it all. He is the One who decides whether we prosper or not. To take glory away from God and place it on ourselves, on our deeds, on our own efforts is a big mistake. God will oppose you if you think too highly of yourself! I don't know how you feel, but I have enough opposition from Satan! Whenever I get to thinking proudly I remind myself that I really depend on God and need Him to help me in all I do or I WILL SURELY FAIL! I remind myself of how much God has forgiven me and try my best to pass this grace on to others. I not perfect at it yet, but I'm working on it. I saw a T-shirt once that reminds me of this.......it said “your arms are too short to box with God”. We all struggle and have to fight against many things. I, for one, don't want to see God in the opposing corner of the boxing ring I'm in!!
